Description
Named perfectly, this Hydrangea is certainly easy to fall in love with! In late spring and reblooming during summer, the Love Hydrangea produces abundant floral quality blooms with unique triple to quadruple petaled flowers that open soft green transitioning to pink shades. The overlapping petals decrease in size towards the center of the flower creating a charming rosette. The flowers stand out very well against high-gloss rich green leaves on a compact mound to around 3 feet tall and equally as wide. Excellent as an accent in smaller garden spaces and home foundation plantings or grouped or as a colorful hedge where space will allow. Also suited for containers that can be situated on patios, decks, porches and balconies.
As with many other mophead hydrangeas soil pH will determine flower color. If you want to be sure to have pink flowers simply add pelletized agricultural limestone to the soil. If you’d rather have blue as Soil Sulfur.

Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing to about 3 feet tall and equally as wide, the Love Hydrangea is ideal for use as a specimen in small garden spaces and containers or in groupings or as a colorful hedge in home foundation plantings and landscape borders. A fine addition to hydrangea gardens, pink theme gardens, cut flower gardens and cottage gardens.
Suggested Spacing: 2.5 to 3 feet apart for solid hedges or borders; 6 feet or more apart for space between plants
Note: For our customers who live and garden north of USDA Planting Zone 5a, where this Hydrangea variety is not winter hardy outdoors, you can enjoy it in containers that can be moved indoors during winter and placed back outside when temperatures warm up in spring.
Growing Preferences
The Love Hydrangea is very easy to grow in most any average, moist but well-drained soil and sun or part shade. The plants will tolerate full sun in northern zones however appreciate some afternoon shade or filtered sun in warmer southern zones. We suggest at least 5 hours of direct sunlight per day or all day lightly filtered sun for best flowering. You choose the flower color. An alkaline soil produces pink to rose flowers while an acid soil produces purple to blue flowers. Learn more about soil pH and how to adjust it.
Note: Love Hydrangea is an everblooming Hydrangea macrophylla species that produces its flowers from buds formed on both new and old wood.
